A premature review on myLot

A few days ago I posted about myLot. Now it's time for a short review of it.

  • Recap: MyLot is a huge forum about everything. It has "interests" that work like categories, and you get paid for participation.
  • Revenue: You get paid around 0.01$ per post, I get less, but I've understood that some people get more. MyLot has a secret algorithm that "values" your contribution.
  • Time-Revenue-ratio: Because payment depends on quality/length, you have to think about your post. You have to be an über-writer, if you intend to earn more than with even those awful Paid To Click-programs. So time-revenue-ratio is extremely bad.
  • Verdict: Trying to earn money here is futile. But you like hanging out in forums, and like having (getting, not earning) extra money (who wouldn't, it's free money!), myLot is the forum where you should be. Now, go earn money from your forum addiction!
The disclaimer: This post contains referral links. This site's sole purpose is not to be a referring center for me. If you have a problem with referrals, feel free to remove the referring-appendix of the address. Just remember, that I won't post any referral links to sites where being referred hinders using the site or earnings in any way. Registering to services via referral links are the best way to thank me, if you find the information useful. You will also help me, and everyone else prove, that earning money from the Internet is possible. If you provide me with a good service, I will be more than happy to register as your referral.

New service: myLot

This could be good. MyLot is a giant BBS/Forum/whatever you call it, about everything and everyone. Why is it here? Because you get money for posting. I know many people who hang out in forums a lot. This could be a way to make it profitable. The system is quite innovative: you add interests of different areas (hobbies, technology, movies, cars, etc. etc. etc.) the more the better. After that it throws discussions for you, that you could be interested/literate in. The system works quite well. I haven't figured the "post valuing-algorithm" out yet, but they claim it pays you depending on relevance and helpfulness. Payment is via PayPal (or Moneybookers), and the minimum payout is 10$ (God, I hate the word "minimum payout", so PTC-ish) Register here.

The start of my long journey

This is The Beginning. I have a vision, but no expectations. I hope that I can look back at this post sometime in the future and say: "It was worth it. I'm GLaD that I made those decisions." No one can see the future (trust me, if I could, I'd already taken a massive loan and invested it). If you have even the slightest interest of following an financial life story; please bookmark this blog. A writer is nothing without his readers. Also, I don't intend this to be a recruiting/referral channel for me (like some blogs are), but just a place to share all the information and results I can find for other people like me. Feel free to comment, suggest, and involve in other ways: you might just be one of those who will change my path

Well, for your amusement, here are some starting statistics:

Since this is a new page, it hasn't got any visitors.
From my previous blog (in Finnish), I've got 3,16$ of AdSense revenue in about one and a half year.
I've also done Paid To Click and Paid To Read stuff, but their income was so ridiculously low compared to the time they ate up that is was almost criminal (and it would be if it was considered a job), that I quit them after few weeks. From them, I earned perhaps some cents, but haven't calculated the total, because it was span over dozens of pages.

So, my starting point isn't quite zero, it's 3,16$.

I haven't figured out yet what kind of reporting system I'll use (if you have suggestions, I'll be more than glad to hear them). But one thing that could be kinda cool would be a "total earnings all time"-calculator. So here it goes.

Total earnings all-time: 3,16$
